Arthroscopic Knee & Shoulder Joint Surgery

During an arthroscopic procedure, your orthopaedic surgeon is able to look at the surface of your joints with the use of a tiny camera. The procedure is often used to diagnose and treat joint problems, perform surgery or monitor disease.

During shoulder or knee arthroscopy a tiny camera is inserted into a joint. Images are displayed on screens for your surgeon to see as he works with small surgical tools.

Arthroscopic shoulder surgery may be recommended for one of the following reasons:

  • Rotator cuff repair
  • Removal of bone spurs
  • Labrum repairs
  • Shoulder dislocations
  • Sports injuries
  • Torn ligaments
  • Dislocated patella
  • Fractures
  • Degenerative conditions like osteoarthritis
